The Good Ol' Boy Saga |

“Not accepting the Putnam GOP’s endorsement was a badge of honor.” That was Greg Ball’s comment to the news media after John Degnan beat him by a 2-1 margin at the Putnam Republican Convention. As usual, Ball’s statement is a bold face lie. Not only did Mr. Ball show up at the convention, but he rambled on for over ten minutes in a pathetic plea for the support for the Putnam GOP nomination. After listening to the audio, ask yourself if Mr. Ball’s plea for the Republican nomination is consistent with his badge of courage comment. Mr. Ball’s flat out lies about his record and that of his opponent, could not change the minds of the more than one hundred committee present at the convention. What is most amusing is when Mr. Ball—who constantly claims to be an Albany outsider—invokes the name of Republican Leader Jim Tedico as reason why he deserves the Republican Party’s endorsement. Some badge of honor. Putnam GOP Convention News Clip
